From January to June this year, the accommodation and catering industry in Nansha district led the city with a remarkable 27 percent year-on-year growth rate, ranking first for two consecutive quarters.
This achievement is attributed to tens of thousands of young people choosing to settle in Nansha. From May last year to the end of April this year, the population in Nansha increased by 110,000. These young residents have boosted consumer enthusiasm.
Since the beginning of this year, Nansha has focused on new business formats such as first stores, with new stores opening almost every month. So far, 45 new brands have been introduced to Nansha, boosting catering consumption through a "first store +" model.

First stores have also become incubators for urban cultural IPs. Nansha is promoting the development of its first stores featuring local culinary culture and plans to integrate trendy elements such as Tanka culture, cruise economy, and digital technology in the future to create immersive consumption spaces.
Additionally, Nansha has revised and introduced support policies to bolster the service industry, offering rewards of up to 1 million yuan ($139,600) for introducing international brand first stores, facilitating the emergence of a prototype for an international consumption center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
