As the geographical center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with vast hinterlands, Nansha boasts significant advantages in developing the marine industry. Port competitiveness is on the rise, with container throughput expected to exceed 20 million TEUs by 2024, supported by numerous foreign trade routes.

Major projects continue to materialize, such as the expansion of berths in Nansha Port's Phase Five project and the delivery of the world's first salmon aquaculture vessel.

Enterprises are achieving fruitful innovations, with companies like Sealien, founded just two years ago, securing a multimillion-dollar order from the United Arab Emirates for commercializing domestically produced deep-sea robots.

Nansha also houses strong scientific research institutions, including eight high-level marine research institutes, such as the South China Sea Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Preferential corporate income tax rates are offered to support the development of the marine industry, along with targeted financial policies. The International Alliance for the Development of the Marine Industry (Nansha) is dedicated to promoting the integration of education, technology, and industrial talents. Nansha will implement talent attraction programs, introducing policies such as free accommodation and internship subsidies. Starting from July 7, 180 university students will commence summer internships in the maritime industry in Nansha.
