The second Nansha Snooker Open kicked off at Nansha UniPark on May 5, running until May 11 for a seven-day event. The tournament, attracting 139 top-tier snooker players from across China, represents a record-breaking lineup in terms of scale.

Boasting a prize pool of over 100,000 yuan ($13,817), the victor will claim a substantial 50,000 yuan prize. Breaking barriers of profession and age, male Chinese players over 10 years old are eligible to compete.

Participants from various regions across China, from ages 11 to 52, demonstrate the event's inclusivity and the strong appeal of Nansha as a new hub for sports in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Statistics show that players from all over China have joined the competition, with Guangdong, a snooker stronghold in China, dominating with 78 participants, comprising over half of the total. The active involvement of players from Hong Kong underscores the event's significant influence in the Greater Bay Area.

In response to the call for "sporting events at scenic areas, on streets, and in commercial districts", this edition of the tournament has been brought to Nansha UniPark. Spectators can now enjoy thrilling matches up close while shopping, dining, and strolling, embodying a deep fusion of sports, entertainment, and urban lifestyle.
