Nansha district held the Hong Kong-Nansha Talent Exchange Fair and the "Nansha Day" promotional event at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on April 10, during which it invited young university students to join hands in exploring new development opportunities and shaping a new future in the district.

In recent years, there has been a notable surge in interest among Hong Kong youth in studying, establishing businesses, and living in Nansha. Numerous ambitious young talents have gravitated towards the area, where almost 1,000 projects from enterprises based in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan have already found a home, attracting more than 10,000 Hong Kong residents.

Nansha currently boasts 15 Hong Kong and Macao youth entrepreneurship hubs and 34 technology enterprise incubation centers, nurturing over 1,000 projects from young entrepreneurs hailing from Hong Kong and Macao. Residents from Hong Kong can seamlessly integrate into top-tier incubation facilities, kickstarting their entrepreneurial endeavors with ease.

To get more young people from Hong Kong and Macao interested in Nansha, the district introduced policies in 2022 focusing on the practical needs of Hong Kong and Macao youth. This included employment growth, internships, entrepreneurship development, exchanges, and living arrangements.

The policy encompasses 32 specific subsidies and incentives, crafting a comprehensive support framework aimed at assisting Hong Kong and Macao youth in launching businesses and securing employment opportunities.

To date, Nansha has attracted nearly 3,400 Hong Kong and Macao enterprises, with 95 percent being Hong Kong companies, utilizing $14.6 billion in Hong Kong and Macao capital. The cumulative amount of personal income tax exemptions for Hong Kong and Macao residents is approximately 80 million yuan ($11 million).

Presently, Nansha and Hong Kong stand at the brink of a new era of collaboration, with unparalleled development prospects. Nansha is constructing a platform for young individuals to fearlessly shape the future and chase their aspirations.
