In January 2025, the foreign trade container operations at Guangzhou Port exhibited robust growth, with a 17.92 percent year-on-year surge in foreign trade cargo throughput.

The performance of Nansha Port was notably exceptional, witnessing a 19.5 percent month-on-month surge and a 22.2 percent year-on-year increase in foreign trade container throughput.

Throughout the Spring Festival holiday, the integration of culture, tourism, and transportation in Guangzhou has been particularly remarkable, as evidenced by the Pearl River experiencing an unprecedented daily surge in tourist numbers. The Nansha International Cruise Port is poised to welcome 38,000 visitors during this period.

International cruise tourism is also booming, with eight international cruise ships scheduled to dock at the Nansha International Cruise Port from Feb 5 to 22, expecting to accommodate 38,000 visitors during the Spring Festival holiday, contributing to Guangzhou's ambition of becoming a world-class tourist destination.

In January, 4,530 vessels entered and exited Guangzhou Port, with 563 vessels during the Spring Festival period, marking a 5 percent year-on-year increase. During the holiday, 67 passenger ships were deployed, transporting 365,100 passengers by waterway, representing an 11.7 percent increase in capacity.
