Nansha focuses on high-quality development in 2025

The Guangzhou Nansha High-quality Development Conference was held in Nansha district of Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, on Feb 7 to mobilize the entire district to prioritize the real economy and manufacturing sector at the start of the new year.

The conference, attended by approximately 1,600 participants, including representatives from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, business leaders, and experts in the fields of science, technology, and education, focused on accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system, promoting the district's high-quality development through project-driven initiatives, and establishing Nansha as a globally significant strategic platform. 

In his address, Liu Wei, Party secretary of Nansha, emphasized that high-quality development is essential for Nansha to achieve its strategic goals and realize leapfrog progress. 

He highlighted the district's unique strategic position and advantages, urging officials to enhance their sense of mission, responsibility and urgency. Liu also stressed the importance of creating a market-oriented, world-class business environment governed by a sound legal framework, pledging sincere and dedicated support for entrepreneurs.  

Wu Yang, district head of Nansha, outlined key priorities for Nansha's development, emphasizing the need to focus on industrial upgrading and innovation. He called for transforming traditional industries such as automotive, shipbuilding, and marine engineering equipment while fostering emerging sectors like biomedicine and integrated circuits.

Additionally, Wu emphasized the need to explore future industries, including quantum technology and brain-inspired intelligence, to secure Nansha's competitive edge.
