Nansha hosts 2025 Spring Festival series of events

From Jan 1 to Feb 12, Dongchong town in Nansha district hosted the 2025 Dongchong Spring Festival series of events, attracting residents and visitors to celebrate the Spring Festival together.

The activities included a water town cultural market, blessings and couplets giving, online visual contests, marathons, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, garden parties celebrating the Lantern Festival, and more exciting events.

Highlights of the activities featured the inaugural Giant Pumpkin Spring Art Festival in Nansha, a large-scale classic red stage play Battlefield Red Tassel, celebrations, and the Year of the Snake blessings event in Dongchong.

Additionally, there were the Dongchong Spring Festival water town market activities, showcasing art performances, a fusion of traditional and modern culture, and unique experiences for visitors to immerse themselves in the Spring Festival atmosphere.

Furthermore, there were online visual contests and virtual marathons to promote Dongchong's culture and encourage community fitness. The Cantonese song competition, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, garden parties, and the Hong Kong-style Lantern Festival celebration provided diverse cultural experiences for the participants.

Various villages and communities in Dongchong will also host special cultural activities to enhance the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival. These events not only showcase the unique charm of Dongchong but also inject vitality and anticipation into the local cultural tourism development.
