Currently, Nansha Port has opened 11 direct shipping routes to France, operated by international shipping giants such as Maersk, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), and Evergreen Shipping Agency, with four routes connecting directly to Marseille-Fos Port. From January to September 2024, the export volume from Nansha Port to Marseille-Fos Port in France increased by 40 percent compared to the previous year.

In May of this year, a delegation from the Guangdong Provincial Government visited Marseille, facilitating the establishment of friendly port relations between Guangzhou Port and Marseille-Fos Port. Marseille-Fos Port is the second-largest port in the Mediterranean, the largest container shipping port, and the largest cruise port in France, serving as a crucial gateway for goods between China and Europe.

The collaboration between the two ports is set to drive economic development, jointly improve port and logistics services, promote cooperation in digitalization and automation, develop smart ports, and advocate for environmental protection measures and low-carbon solutions.

Guangzhou Port has established friendly cooperation with 60 international ports, aiming to leverage the port's role in logistics, economy, trade, and information exchange. Nansha Port has become a crucial comprehensive hub port area, showcasing Guangzhou Port's significant position and development potential in international cooperation.
