Nansha showcases sci-tech innovation at overseas talent exchange convention

The 2023 Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents and the 25th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology opened on Dec 22.

Nansha district hosted its exhibition booth on scientific innovation and smart environmental solutions, featuring the participation of several universities and technology companies, including Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), Pony.ai, and Deep Mirror Technology.

The Nansha exhibition area was divided into seven sections, including an overview of Nansha, marine technology, major platforms, the chip industry, cultural environment, talent policies, and corporate showcases.

The exhibition design incorporated elements such as sailboats and ocean waves, showcasing the marine technology and coastal characteristics of "thousands of sails sailing towards innovation." It was presented using technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and 3D holographic digital humans in the metaverse, enhancing the attractiveness and engagement of the exhibition.

Dr Jiang Qiongcheng, a medical doctor who graduated from Stanford University, returned to China from Silicon Valley in 2020 and founded Guangzhou Yichenyun Health Technology in Nansha district.

When asked why she chose Nansha, Jiang said, "The first time I came to Nansha and saw egrets in the Jiaomen River, I felt that this place was incredibly beautiful and had an excellent ecological environment. Additionally, Nansha has a well-established foundation in the biopharmaceutical industry, which is conducive to the development of industry clusters. 

Nansha also has a comprehensive talent policy, making it highly competitive for attracting high-end talents from both China and overseas."
