New roads and bridges to be built for Nansha's cultural, sports complex

The Nansha comprehensive cultural and sports complex project in Guangzhou will be supported by the construction of seven new municipal roads and 11 new bridges across the river channels, local media outlets reported on Dec 6.

The project is planned to include a total length of 10.8 kilometers of roads and 0.6 km of bridges. The roads will consist of three main urban roads with a design speed of 60 km per hour. There are also four secondary urban roads with a design speed of 40 km per hour.

After the project is completed, it will further improve the development plan of the road network in Nansha district, promote the transformation of Nansha from the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to the transportation center, as well as play a more important role in participating in international economic cooperation and competition in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
