Nansha hosts finals of global SME innovation contest

The final round of the 2022-2023 "Maker in China" SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Contest was held in Guangzhou's Nansha district on Nov 29.

Nearly 300 representatives from investment institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises participated in the event. Teams from countries and regions such as Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Macao competed in the final.

The final round brought together 20 projects in various fields, such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine and health, new energy, energy conservation, and new materials. The "Naturen" project, which focuses on natural and edible coatings that are used to preserve agricultural products, ultimately won this year's championship.

During the event, 10 projects from Hong Kong and Macao signed contracts to settle in Nansha. Among them was the champion of this year's Macao regional competition, which features a scar repair gel project. It will settle in Nansha's Guangdong Medical Valley.

The runner-up of the Hong Kong regional competition, the MOODIE.AI communication speech training platform, will settled in Nansha's Loteam Cloud Valley. It will add new momentum to the district's biomedicine, health, and artificial intelligence sectors.
