The 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Health Cooperation Conference opened in Nansha on Nov 10.

This conference ranks as the first held with the goal of boosting cooperation in the healthcare sector in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) since the implementation of the so-called Nansha plan one year ago.

Zhong Nanshan, a Chinese respiratory disease expert, delivered a keynote speech on improving innovation and talent quality in the GBA.

More than 600 people attended the conference, including over 60 academicians, experts and scholars from both domestic and foreign institutions, representatives from the medical and healthcare industry, representatives from the biopharmaceutical industry, and officials from AI technology enterprises.

A total of 60 cooperation projects were reached, covering various areas such as technological innovation, industrial cooperation, talent cultivation, sharing of rare blood type libraries, and treatments for rare diseases.

These collaborations will promote close cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao in terms of medical resources, the deep integration and development of the health industry, and the exchange and cultivation of medical and healthcare talents, providing key support for a healthy bay area.
