Nansha hosts conference on NEV, ICV global supply chain

The 2023 Conference on Innovated Global Supply Chain for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and Intelligent Connected Vehicles (ICVs) took place in Guangzhou's Nansha district from Oct 31 to Nov 1.

The conference gathered nearly 1,000 industry elites, experts, and scholars. They explored global automotive supply chain reform from different dimensions, aiming to support the high-quality development of the automotive industry.

The conference featured five open meetings, three closed-door meetings, and one closed-door special session. The topics covered included power batteries, automotive chips, ecology, and new production methods.

In recent years, Nansha has prioritized the automotive industry and established itself as a manufacturing hub. By leveraging Guangzhou's favorable conditions as well as its educational and research resources, Nansha has developed an automotive industry cluster and accelerated its high-quality economic development.

In 2022, the output value of Nansha's automotive manufacturing industry reached 195.7 billion yuan ($26.7 billion), a year-on-year growth of 19.3 percent. For five consecutive years, the output value has exceeded 100 billion yuan, and it is on track to reach 200 billion yuan in the near future.
