Wanqingsha agricultural products gain popularity

The "Fresh Wanqingsha" agriculture festival was held in Nansha Wetland Park on Oct 20.

Wanqingsha town has a long guava cultivation history. The town benefits from a favorable climate and soil environment, which contributes to the unique flavor of the guavas grown here.

Currently, there are nearly 15,000 acres of guava plantations in Wanqingsha town, making it one of the largest guava cultivation areas in the province.

In 2022, Wanqingsha guava was included onto the national list of special and new agricultural products.

As part of the event, Kuang Shizi, a researcher at the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences' Institute of Fruit Tree Research, delivered a speech on the standardization of guava cultivation.

Kuang also focused on promoting the revitalization of rural industries, ensuring the quality and safety of agricultural products, increasing the income of farmers, and integrating agriculture deeply into the digital economy.

To explore new ideas for the development of the guava industry, Wanqingsha has been gradually establishing a standardized system for its entire guava industry chain, including a reasonable layout, scientific indicators, and coordinated supporting measures.
