Dawen village is a scenic destination in Nansha, Guangzhou. It is known for its agriculture and tourism, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the beauty of the countryside while enjoying various activities and experiences.
As one of the earliest agricultural tourism demonstration sites in Guangzhou, the village has created a 1.5-kilometer fruit and vegetable greenway. This features 16 varieties of unique fruits and vegetables, including alligator pumpkins, mouse melons, chestnut pumpkins, and snake beans.
In addition, the village boasts the first water greenway in Guangzhou. Tourists can board a bamboo-covered boat at the dock and navigate their way through this, enjoying the scenic countryside along the way and hearing the melodious songs of the boatwomen. This activity has become an essential experience for visitors to the village.
Dawen village has also developed a 26-km bicycle greenway that connects various attractions such as an agricultural sightseeing park, exhibition hall, fruit and vegetable greenway, and wetland park. This open and leisurely agricultural tourism area attracts many visitors who choose to explore the greenway by bike and experience the relaxed rural lifestyle along the route.
The village is renowned for its rich culinary culture and was named the "master of Cantonese cuisine village in Guangzhou" in 2022. Currently, there are nearly 20 farmhouses in the village that offer a variety of local specialty dishes, which are highly appreciated by tourists.
