Nansha has recently introduced support measures to enhance its functions as an international shipping and logistics hub, local media outlets reported on Oct 8.

These measures cover eight areas, including enterprise establishment and development, economic growth, logistics development, sea-rail intermodal transportation, shipping services, and international maritime services. They are also expected to promote the development of Nansha's shipping and logistics sector.

In addition to introducing incentives for enterprise establishment, these measures also encourage enterprise development. Shipping companies with an annual revenue of over 20 million yuan ($3 million) will receive a 5 percent reward based on their annual operating income.

Furthermore, for shipping companies that achieve a revenue of 20 million yuan for the first time, a one-time reward of 200,000 yuan will be given.

Additionally, shipping companies with an annual operating revenue of over 20 million yuan that have also contributed to the district's economic growth in the previous year will be eligible to apply for a reward equal to 90 percent of their economic contribution.

These measures encourage the green and low-carbon development of the district's shipping industry, as policies are now in place to retrofit vessels to save energy and reduce emissions.

Vessels that promote the use of clean energy sources such as electricity, hydrogen, and liquefied natural gas in the Nansha Port Area will receive a vessel registration reward of up to 100 yuan per gross ton.
