Nansha tourism flourishes during holiday, attracting 1.6m visitors

During the eight-day holiday for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day this year, many tourists visited Nansha, local media outlets reported on Oct 7.

The total number of visitors reached 1.6 million, a year-on-year increase of 127.81 percent, and a 50.63 percent increase compared to the same period in 2019.

The central area of Jiaomen River, including Wanda Plaza, Uni Park, and Lingshan Island, received 1 million visitors. The eastern scenic area, including Nansha Tianhou Palace and surrounding tourist attractions, received 316,000 visitors.

In addition, during the National Day holiday, top-level three-on-three basketball events and a youth tennis invitational were held in Nansha. The "event economy" in Nansha has received a warm welcome from young fans.

The significant increase in tourists during the holiday period reflects the growing popularity of Nansha as a tourist destination. Its beautiful natural scenery, cultural attractions, and exciting events have attracted visitors from all over the country.
