The 2023 International Fruit Expo took place at the Canton Fair Complex from Sept 1 to 3, attracting over 200 companies from more than 20 countries and regions to participate.
The expo showcased a wide variety of fresh fruit, fruit products, as well as related storage and logistics facilities, encompassing the fruit industry's complete supply chain.
Of note, the Guangzhou Nansha International Cold Chain project, a core hub of Guangzhou Port Group's cold chain logistics, made its debut at this event.
This project not only demonstrates the district's achievements in developing a robust and efficient cold chain logistics system, but also strengthens its position in the international fruit trade hub.
In the first half of this year, the value of imported cold chain cargo in the Nansha Port area surpassed 13.8 billion yuan ($2 billion), of which nearly 8 billion yuan was imported fruit. Nansha Port has emerged as China's leading port for importing cherries and durians.
