HKUST (GZ) welcomes inaugural undergrad students

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Guangzhou branch welcomed its first batch of undergraduate students, local media outlets reported on Aug 15.

Students from diverse backgrounds and cultures are said to be converging in the university, to embark on a transformative educational journey that will empower them with knowledge.

Situated in the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the HKUST (GZ) provides a great setting for cross-cultural learning and innovation.

Students are expected to benefit from a cutting-edge curriculum designed to address the challenges of the modern world, while also embracing traditional values that underscore the importance of ethical conduct and social responsibility.

"I have always considered the HKUST (GZ) as my dream university. I am thrilled to be accepted, as the school gives me a real sense of belonging," said a student from Taiwan.

"The biggest impression I have is that the teachers here are extremely patient and enthusiastic. Being on campus has broadened my thinking and perspective and I now have brand new goals in life," she added.
