The tanker Marin Gas Coronis, carrying 60,000 metric tons of liquefied natural gas or LNG, recently docked at the wharf in Nansha and completed the unloading process on Aug 8.

The arrival marked the start of operations of Guangzhou's emergency peak regulating gas source supply. Funded by the Guangzhou Gas Group, it is regarded as an important project that meets the natural gas security requirements and is crucial for the development of the provincial capital.

Its first phase has completed the construction of two 160,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tanks and the conversion of a dedicated unloading wharf capable of berthing LNG vessels with capacities ranging from 30,000 to 175,000 cu m.

To ensure the smooth arrival of the Marin Gas Coronis, the Guangzhou Nansha maritime safety administration provided diligent services and facilitated the vessel's port declarations and green clearance, ensuring a "zero waiting time" for the mooring operations.

It's expected that the facility will boost the economy and people of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and contribute to the construction of Nansha's core area.
