Two projects, the Guangdong Aerospace Science and Technology Research Institute and the Guangdong Institute of Intelligent Unmanned Systems, were put into operation on July 11 in the Mingzhu Science Park of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The establishment of these two institutes is expected to drive the integration of science and education resources, while also promoting the accumulation of technological innovation in Nansha. They will serve as a new engine for the development of the district.

The Guangdong Aerospace Science and Technology Research Institute is located in the eastern part of Zhujiang Street, covering a total land area of 29,512 square meters. It comprises two separate buildings, one for flight demonstrations and the other for general assembly and testing.

The first phase of the Guangdong Institute of Intelligent Unmanned Systems covers a construction area of about 9,500 square meters. This project includes the construction of a research building, roads, landscaping, and other supporting facilities.

It plans to carry out research in areas such as intelligent unmanned ocean equipment for deep-sea applications, with the aim of becoming a new type of research and development institution with prominent technological leadership.
