The Guangzhou Rural Revitalization and Urban Modern Agriculture Investment and Talent Recruitment Event was held in Nansha on Mar 6, with the aim of promoting investment in agricultural and rural projects in Guangzhou to accelerate high-quality agricultural and rural development.

At the event, a signing ceremony for key projects and framework agreements was also held. A number of key agricultural projects landed in Nansha district, with an investment amount of 2 billion yuan ($1,817 million).

As the new core area of Guangzhou, Nansha has continuously increased policy support and optimized its business environment for investment. It has focused on key elements such as the fishery industry, the livestock and poultry industry, and the vegetable and grain industry.

At the same time, several parks have been established in the district to promote the development of modern agriculture, such as the Nansha Modern Fishery Industrial Park, the Nansha Modern Urban Agriculture Experimental Park, and the Nansha Prefabricated Vegetable Industrial Park.

In recent years, Nansha's agricultural industry has achieved remarkable development results because of the district's unique location, transportation network, and policy advantages. Last year, the total agricultural output value of Nansha district exceeded 12.6 billion yuan, ranking first in Guangzhou for the third consecutive year.

Next, Nansha will target two major areas, namely scientific and technological innovation, and opening up to the outside world. It will accelerate the construction of the Nansha national agricultural openness and cooperation pilot zone, as well as build a high-standard prefabricated vegetable industrial park.
