The International Financial Forum (IFF) Permanent Site project in Guangzhou's Nansha district has completed the construction of its metal roof, main and steel structures, and aims to be put into use by the end of 2023, local media outlets reported on Mar 5.

The permanent site of the IFF project is located on the eastern tip of Hengli Island at the starting area of Pearl Bay. It is being constructed by China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC).

The project boasts a "kapok in full bloom" design concept, and consists of an international conference center, a service center and supporting rooms.

As the core of the project, the international conference center features a construction area of about 166,500 square meters, and a building height of about 50 meters.

It utilizes a truss and grid steel structure as its "skeleton", the white metal roof and decorative aluminum plate serve as its "petals," while the glass skylight is its "stamen," which together form a "blooming kapok."

In addition, the center will feature 32 conference halls of different sizes, with the largest one covering more than 2,500 sqm and a capacity of 2,000 people. The project also includes more than 4,000 parking spaces to meet future parking demands.
