Nansha's 2022 GDP growth ranks 1st in Guangzhou

The fourth session of the 4th Nansha district people's congress opened on Feb 8. The meeting reviewed the achievements made by Nansha in 2022, and finalized a work plan for 2023.

Nansha's GDP exceeded 225 billion yuan ($33 billion) last year with a year-on-year increase of 4.2 percent. Its growth rate tops all of Guangzhou's districts.

In 2022, Nansha's total agricultural output value reached 12.6 billion yuan with a growth rate of 6.6 percent, ranking first in Guangzhou. The output value of industries above designated size reached 380.5 billion yuan, ranking second in the city.

In addition, the district's total import and export volume increased by 15.1 percent, reaching an amount of 299 billion yuan. Its actual utilization of foreign investment was 17.3 billion yuan, indicating an impressive increase of 72.7 percent.

Nansha aims to increase its GDP by 10 percent, and strives for a container throughput of 19 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2023. It also plans to raise its industrial output value by 16 percent, general public budget revenue by 8 percent, and investment in fixed assets by 30 percent.
