Two major transport projects in Nansha have gained momentum. The main tower of Hengmen West Mega Bridge, part of the Nansha-Zhongshan expressway project, was successfully capped, and the first steel box girder of Lingdingyang Bridge, part of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge project, was lifted.

The Hengmen West Mega Bridge project officially began construction in February 2021, and was invested by the Guangzhou Communications Investment Group. It is the largest single-tower steel box girder bridge that is under construction in China. It has a total length of 912 meters a main span of 390 meters.

Lingdingyang Bridge is a floating three-span suspension bridge with a 270-meter high main tower and 213 steel box girder sections, making it the world's highest navigable bridge in the sea.

The Nansha-Zhongshan expressway will form a Y-shaped road network with the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, further enhancing the connectivity of major cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
