Nansha signs memorandum with Sanamxay in Laos

Guangzhou's Nansha district signed a memorandum with Sanamxay district, Attapeu province in Laos, online on Jan 16, aiming to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two regions.

Wu Yang, head of Nansha district, delivered a speech at the ceremony, stating that Nansha has been ramping up efforts in recent years to become a new highland for high-quality development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Thanouxay Bansalith, deputy governor of Attapeu province, said that the friendly relations between Laos and China have deepened in recent years, and that the memorandum is expected to create a new landscape for exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Vanhpheng Saisomphou, consul general of Laos in Guangzhou, noted that the Greater Bay Area is a very dynamic region that brings great opportunities for Lao products such as commodities and handicrafts.

Vanhpheng added that Nansha and Sanamxay will take this opportunity to promote and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as trade, investment, agriculture, cultural tourism and education. This will contribute to the economic and social development of both regions.
