The widening and reconstruction project of Yuwotou Avenue is making progresses in construction, including road, greening, and lighting engineering work, local media outlets reported on Jan 9.

The Yuwotou Avenue project, which began construction in 2019 and is expected to be completed in March 2023, will effectively meet the traffic demand in Dongchong town and improve the travel conditions for residents along the line.

Yuwotou Avenue is the main east-west traffic road in the northern part of Nansha district, starting from Highway No 7 (Lanhe Avenue) in the west to the northern extension of the East Expressway.

It runs through Lanhe town and Dongchong town, and connects Shunde and Qingsheng. Once construction is complete, it will have a designated speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

Nearly 85 percent of the work volume for the project has been completed, and it is currently carrying out the construction of intermediate bridge punching piles, as well as completing the remaining sidewalks and traffic engineering works.
