Construction on the Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center (Nansha) project has entered its final stage, local media outlets reported on Nov 8.
The hospital is located on the south side of Shinan Avenue on Jiaomen Island, Huangge town, and the capping work of the main structure was completed in December 2020. At present, its interior decoration has been mostly completed.
With a total construction area of 156,000 square meters, the project has nine floors above ground and two floors underground. It has an emergency outpatient building, an inpatient building, a scientific research building, and an underground parking lot. Upon completion, it will boast 780 beds and 1,327 parking spaces.
The entire project's appearance is full of marine elements. The LED screen will play animations of marine elements, such as fish and waves, creating a warm and fashionable medical space for staff and patients.
Nansha plans to improve the construction of the hospital's hardware facilities, as well as strengthen its capacity of parturient and newborn crisis treatment. Upon opening, the hospital will help Nansha establish a new highland of medical resources, as well as a demonstration area of high-quality life services in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
