Nansha Port Railway, the first passenger and freight double-track railway entering the Nansha area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone in the core area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has become more attractive for freight transportation since the State Council recently issued an overall plan for Nansha district to deepen comprehensive cooperation between Guangdong and the Hong Kong and Macao administrative regions.
At present, many enterprises along the line, especially those near the port, can transport bulk cargo, such as coal, ore, steel, cars, grain, and oil, through the railway. The opening of the first China-Europe freight train from Nansha Port South Station has created another convenient and efficient export transportation channel for the Greater Bay Area.
