On July 5, the Guangzhou municipal bureau of commerce issued a bonded refueling license to the Guangzhou branch of the China National Petroleum Corporation (PetroChina) at the Nansha Government Affairs Center.
This was the third company to be granted this license by the Guangzhou municipal government after obtaining the bonded refueling license for international ships. So far, the three bonded refueling licenses issued by Guangzhou have been awarded to Nansha-based enterprises.
The State Council recently issued an overall plan for Nansha to deepen comprehensive cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, which clarified the goal of building Nansha into a strategic platform based on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, cooperating with Hong Kong and Macao, as well as facing the world.
Compared with the important oil supply ports in Singapore and other places, the Guangzhou Port currently has an unbalanced development in terms of the scale of bonded oil supply and the scale of the port. As an international hub port, it boasts huge market prospects. The petrochemical storage facilities in Nansha are complete, and the port boasts strong location advantages.

Depending on PetroChina, the Guangzhou branch of PetroChina can mobilize about 3 million metric tons per year of low-sulfur oil resources in South China, as well as provide marine fuel with high quality and excellent prices for international ships.
Nansha has a solid shipping foundation, with 148 foreign trade routes and a total storage tank capacity of 3.17 million cubic meters in Xiaohu Chemical Industry Park, with abundant storage resources. It also offers strong industrial advantages to enterprises involved in the bonded refueling business.
