Nansha cooperates with Thailand, HK in cross-border goods

Nansha-based Technology Financial Holding Group signed a contract with the Thailand Public Warehouse Organization (PWO) and Hong Kong Crown Logistics on May 12, which will bolster cross-border cooperation in warehousing, logistics, and cross-border goods.

The three parties will carry out trade in agricultural products in Nansha, Guangzhou, as well as cooperate in promotion and marketing. They will also jointly develop an e-commerce platform, including an e-wallet function for cross-border transactions.

Technology Financial Holding Group representatives expressed that although the three parties could only sign and negotiate the agreement online due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the successful signing of the agreement fully reflects the strong will that all parties have regarding cooperation.

PWO representatives noted that agriculture is a traditional industry in Thailand and plays an important role in the Thai economy. The country is one of the world's largest rice exporters, as well as a major producer and exporter of rubber, cassava, sugarcane, and aquatic products.

Nansha has an advantageous geographical location and is the fourth-largest port in the world in terms of throughput, making it the first choice for PWO to establish a Chinese distribution warehouse. It is also an important hub in China's Belt and Road Initiative, as well as on the ancient Maritime Silk Road.

PWO representatives added that Thailand looks forward to investing and cooperating with Nansha, participating in the construction of the BRI, promoting the interests of the two countries, as well as supporting each other in supply chain and other related matters to achieve mutually beneficial results.

In recent years, Nansha has promoted the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, deepened development and cooperation with Hong Kong, Macao, and neighboring countries, as well as promoted the development of new business formats like cross-border e-commerce.
