Nansha is the hub of Guangzhou's cross-border e-commerce industry, with the import and export value of its cross-border e-commerce reaching about 36 billion yuan ($6 billion) last year, with a year-on-year increase of 70 percent.
From January to February, the import and export trade value of Nansha Comprehensive Bonded Zone reached 18.59 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.2 times.
Nansha Area of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and Nansha customs have cooperated to promote the construction of a cross-border e-commerce public distribution center, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Airport Shared International Freight Center, as well as other projects. It has also continued to improve service systems, such as the cross-border e-commerce supervision system, to improve its competitiveness in foreign trade.
"At peak times, we pack 200,000 packages a day. At present, cross-border e-commerce goods can pass through customs within 24 hours, and this efficient system has benefited us greatly," said Yang Haiming, manager of a cross-border e-commerce company in Guangdong province.
Nansha customs has optimized its smart checking system through technological means, further improving customs clearance efficiency. It also supports the construction of a public distribution center for cross-border e-commerce, while realizing the automatic sorting of goods.
In March, Nansha put forward 29 measures in four aspects to improve the service environment for cross-border trade, including supporting the construction and development of cross-border e-commerce independent stations and overseas warehouses, as well as supporting enterprises to speed up cross-border e-commerce export overseas warehouse business for the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) market.
