The Q&A Meeting on Technical Documents of the International Architectural Concept Competition for the Permanent Site of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum was held in Nansha on April 7.
The permanent site of the Greater Bay Area science forum project is located at the tip of Lingshan Island in Nansha's Pearl Bay. The forum aims to build a global scientific platform integrating scientific exchanges, scientific achievement exhibitions, scientific consensus enhancement, and mechanism innovations.
Covering an area of 9.51 hectares for the design scope of this competition, the forum's total construction area is about 100,000 to 140,000 square meters. The construction mainly includes academic centers, science, and technology museums, science and innovation centers, scientist apartments, as well as bus stations. The construction and installation cost of the project is projected to be from 2.2 billion to 2.7 billion yuan ($420 million).
Before the meeting, the Pearl Bay Administration issued a Q&A manual to the participating institutions and answered 111 technical questions.
At the Q&A meeting, the organizer answered the questions of the attending participating institutions to help them understand the project's situation and related technical documents so that they can design architectural plans with featured and reasonable functions.
The organizer also detailed the competition schedule and arrangements, design task requirements, results submission methods, as well as results evaluation methods to the participating institutions.
In the future, the nine design units participating in the competition will carry out innovative design work according to the requirements of the competition. According to the competition process, the organizer will receive the design results of the competition in early May.
