Construction on the Guangzhou Nanhua Industry & Trade Technical School (Nansha) will start construction in March and is expected to be put into use in 2024.

The total investment in this project is about 700 million yuan ($111 million).

Xiong Ying, the chairman of the Guangzhou Nanhua Industry & Trade Technical School, said that the Nansha branch of the school is set to become a talent hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as an international education demonstration base for the "Guangdong Skilled Workers" project.

In addition to keeping its featured jewelry discipline, the technical school will further add key majors in subjects like new energy vehicles and artificial intelligence, which are closely connected with Nansha's industrial structure.

When the school begins operations, it will have the capacity to accommodate 7,000 full-time students, 15,000 annual training students, 10,000 online education students, as well as 230,000 people visiting the campus for research or tourism.

The school will be equipped with the first municipal museum and the first provincial vocational training college in Nansha.
