Two Nansha enterprises, Nanfang Petroleum and Chemical Warehousing (Guangzhou Nansha), as well as Guangzhou Development BP Oil Products, were approved to provide bonded oil refueling for international ships on Feb 28.
After winning the licenses, Nansha enterprises will build a "super gas station" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to provide oil refueling services for international ships.
Located in the geometric center of the Greater Bay Area and adjacent to Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen, as well as other economically developed areas, Nanfang Petroleum and Chemical Warehousing (Guangzhou) can be reached from Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Foshan, and Dongguan within one hour. the ship refueling market accounts for more than 80 percent of Guangdong's total.
Guangzhou Development BP Oil Products has a 670,000-cubic-meter oil depot in the Guangzhou Nansha Area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and a petrochemical professional terminal supporting an 80,000–metric ton open port.
At present, 169 liner routes have been opened in the Nansha Port area, with a cargo throughput of 360 million tons in 2021. The annual oil demand of bonded vessels in the Greater Bay Area is more than 12 million tons.
