Nansha Metro Line 22 to extend to Shenzhen

Nansha will push forward construction on the east extension of Metro Line 22 to Shenzhen to fill the gap in Nansha and Shenzhen urban rail service during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, local media outlets reported on Feb 21.

As part of the platform section of Line 22 has a 600-meter tunnel running alongside a gas pipeline, an assessment needs to be completed first to ensure safety.

Relevant departments have evaluated the opening of Line 22. Plans to renovate the parallel natural gas pipeline have been made, with the preliminary work being carried out.

The southern extension section of Line 22 will be constructed to Nansha Passenger Port in the future. The eastern extension will run from Nansha Passenger Port to the east, crossing the Pearl River into Dongguan and then to Shenzhen.
