HKUST Guangzhou opens hiring for overseas talents

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) is a joint educational venture between mainland China and Hong Kong that is currently hiring overseas talents.

The university is committed to becoming the first green and smart campus in China to achieve carbon neutrality and zero waste of water resources. It aims to become a core part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sustainable Development Demonstration Zone.

The same level of teaching staff, degrees, and programs will be maintained between the university and HKUST. The two universities will cooperate and complement each other to cultivate high-end innovative talents for the Greater Bay Area.

For overseas talents that join the university, they will receive at least 5 million yuan ($788,571) in research start-up funds, as well as 4 to 8 million yuan in support funds, including research support funds and living support funds, covering settling-in expenses, premium medical insurance, and other areas.  

Criteria for applying: Overseas talents must have been born in 1982 or after. They must have a doctoral degree with a focus on natural science, engineering technology, and other areas.
