Nansha a hot spot for postdoctoral researchers in Guangzhou

The Implementation Plan for Establishing an International Talent Special Zone in Nansha, Guangzhou was officially issued in February 2021, resulting in a growing number of young talents from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area settling in the district.

In 2021, Nansha's talent funds reached a total of 700 million yuan ($111 million), benefiting more than 20,000 talents.

More than 150 high-level talents were newly identified in Nansha in 2021, with an average annual growth of 101 percent since 2016. About 15,000 high-level and key talents have gathered in the district, 9.4 times that of 2016.

Nansha has established the first Greater Bay Area Postdoctoral Science and Technology Innovation Public Research Center in China, which has produced more than 300 scientific research achievements, as well as created more than 5 billion yuan in economic benefits for enterprises.

In 2021, Nansha added four new postdoctoral innovation practice bases. There are 22 doctoral and post-doctoral working stations in the district, accounting for one fifth of the number of post-doctoral researchers in Guangzhou.
