The pilot cable of the Lingdingyang Bridge, crossed the Pearl River on Feb 15, connecting the east and west main towers of the bridge. The bridge is a part of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Lingdingyang Bridge has two main towers, with a main span of 1,666 meters and a height of 270 meters. It is the world's largest offshore steel box girder suspension bridge.

The pilot cable crossing the river is the first step of the topside structure construction of the suspension bridge. Lingdingyang Bridge adopted a ship-pull scheme to realize the pilot cable river crossing.

The pilot cable river crossing has contributed to the erection of an aerial construction channel for the Lingdingyang Bridge.
