The General Workers' Federation of Nansha district held a Lantern Festival party on Feb 13.

Attendees guessed lantern riddles and took part in other activities, as well as enjoyed treats like glutinous rice balls known as tangyuan and sticky cotton candy.

"I got the feeling back of enjoying the Lantern Festival like I had in my childhood," said a woman surnamed Li, who has lived in Nansha for several years with her family. She added that she was very happy to see her child enjoy the fun Lantern Festival atmosphere.

Other workers' unions in Nansha carried out traditional activities, such as giving out tangyuan, making dumplings, and hosting Lantern Festival parties.

Wanqingsha Workers Union organized a variety of activities, inviting handicraft experts to provide online live instructions on how to make soft clay versions of Bing Dwen Dwen, the mascot of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and yuanxiao, a dessert ball made of glutinous rice and vegetables.
