Nansha autonomous driving enterprise, Pony.ai, unveiled the sixth generation of automatic driving system user interface design, sensors, and computational for L4 autonomous driving mass production design for the first time.
The first model equipped with this system, the Toyota S-AM, will start road testing in China this year and is expected to be put into the Robotaxi (self-driving travel services) daily operation in 2023.
This autonomous driving system aims promoting mass production of vehicle specifications of model design, component development and selection, software and hardware combination, and more.
"Pony.ai's new generation of automated driving system will further enhance technical reliability and promote large-scale application of autonomous driving technology," said Peng Jun, co-founder and CEO of Pony.ai.
Pony.ai's new autonomous driving system uses solid-state lidar (light detection and ranging) on a large scale for the first time, with a total number of 23 sensors, among which the resolution of the self-developed signal recognition camera is increased by 1.5 times.
