The Development  Plan of Strategic Emerging Industries in Nansha District, Guangzhou during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) was issued, local media outlets reported on Jan 19.

The plan points out that by 2025, the added value of strategic emerging industries will reach 121 billion yuan ($19 billion),  accounting for 40 percent of the GDP, with an average annual growth rate of 14 percent.

Aiming to build one of the largest intelligent and connected automobile industry clusters in China, Nansha  plans to build a leading 5G and artificial intelligence industry cluster in China, as well as a world-class medical industry innovation center by 2025.

Nansha will try to build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a leading area for high-end ships and marine engineering, a leading area for the aviation and aerospace industry, as well as a cluster area for companies involved in new energy, energy-saving, and environmental protection equipment by 2025.

Striving to achieve a number of major technological and application breakthroughs in gas hydrates and human-like machine intelligence, Nansha will also work hard in quantum information, as well as other future industry fields by 2025.
