Nansha Huigu West plans to house over 100,000 residents

The Guangzhou municipal planning and natural resources bureau published a notice on the detailed planning of Nansha West Intelligent Valley, local media outlets reported on Jan 17.

The 8.5-million-square-meter area is positioned as a business science and technology integration area, a renewal transformation demonstration area, as well as a riverside leisure and culture island with a planned residential population of 104,000.

The planning area is located on Nansha Street community, east of Mingzhuwan Bridge and Sanzhen Avenue, north of the Dongguan-Foshan Expressway, south of the Jiaomen Waterway, as well as west of the Jiaomen River, with a total land area of 9.7 square kilometers.

The planned land area for urban and rural construction is 572.8 hectares, including 103.68 hectares for residential use, as well as 77.6 hectares for mixed commercial and residential use.

In terms of public service facilities planning, the area will include four nine-year schools, one primary school, and one kindergarten. One cultural center, one exhibition hall, two mass sports venues, one general hospital, one community health service center, and two welfare homes for seniors are also included in the planning.
