Nansha injects vitality into automobile industry

The 2021 World Intelligent Vehicle Conference was held on Dec 16 and 17 in Nansha district, Guangzhou. Government officials, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs shared their insights into the future development trends of the global automotive industry.

China Ev100 Forum's South China headquarters agreed to set up operations in Nansha during the opening ceremony. It is expected to attract a number of upstream and downstream companies managing new energy vehicles to the district.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the output value of Nansha's automobile manufacturing industry grew by 9.5 percent annually. From January to November this year, the output value of the automobile manufacturing industry reached 134.28 billion yuan ($21.08 billion), exceeding 100 billion yuan for the fourth consecutive year.

Dong Ke, head of Nansha district, said that the district will further optimize supporting industrial chains for the automobile industry and devote efforts to developing hybrid, pure electric, hydrogen energy vehicles, further enhancing the core competitiveness of Nansha's automobile industry.
