Progress is being made on the construction of four metro lines passing through Nansha district, namely Guangzhou metro lines 3, 7, 18 and 22, local media outlets reported on Dec 15.
Metro Line 18 starts at Wanqingsha Station in Nansha and ends at Guangzhou East Railway Station in Tianhe. The 61.3-kilometer line is all underground and has nine stations, eight of which are transfer stations.
Seven percent of the civil works for the extension line on Line 18 (Xiancun village-Guangzhou East Railway Station) has been completed and one station is under preparation.
Guangzhou Metro Line 22 has been undergoing debugging for the past three months. The line starts from Panyu Square in Panyu district and ends at Bai'etan in Liwan district. The whole length is 30.8 km underground.
The eastern extension of Metro Line 3 (Panyu Square-Haibang) is about 9.58 km long, all of which are underground lines. It has four stations in total, including one transfer station, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
Nearly 49 percent of the civil works for Line 3 have been completed. Two out of four stations have been capped, while the other two are under construction.
By the end of November, 98 percent of the civil engineering and 95 percent of the mechanical and electrical engineering work for the western extension of Metro Line 7 had been completed.
The western extension starts from Foshan's Meidi Dadao Station in the west and ends at Guangzhou South Station in the east, stopping at eight stations along the way, seven of which are in Foshan.
