Nansha committed to becoming world-class science city

The Overall Development Plan of Guangzhou Nansha Science City (Draft) was posed by the Guangzhou municipal development and reform commission on Nov 26 and has started solicitation of public opinion.

The plan points out that Nansha Science City's main function zone is expected to be completed by 2025. By 2035, the city plans to become world-class with outstanding talents, significant achievements and future industries.

Nansha Science City has a planned area of 99 square kilometers, and  is located at the center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

It will focus on building a world-class innovation center for marine science and engineering, and strive to become a world-class innovator in integrating science and education.

Its future industrial innovation demonstration zone under Guangzhou-Shenzhen cooperation will focus on the life health industry, and the Wanqingsha area strategic emerging industry development zone will focus on Information technology, new energy vehicles and aerospace while Longxue Island will cast eyes on marine science.

The draft says strategic scientific talents and innovation teams will be gathered and cultivated to meet the demands of the zone's development.
