4th CNBC East Tech West Event amplifies new ideas, voices in Nansha

The two-day CNBC East Tech West 2021 invite-only retreat, which brought together professionals at the cutting edge of the technology industry and leading investors from across the world to discuss the latest tech innovations in the industry, concluded in Nansha on Dec 2, marking the fourth time for this event to take place in the district.

CNBC International, an American pay television business news channel owned by NBC Universal News Group, teamed up with the Nansha government to unite senior business and technology leaders from across the globe to further promote dialogue about the ever-changing technology industry in Nansha, which is developing into a global hub of tech innovation.   

Higher education always has a firm connection with creativeness. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in Clear Water Bay, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) in Nansha will form HKUST 2.0.

HKUST 2.0 will become a future-oriented cradle of world-class innovative talents, an innovation base for future technologies, enterprises and industries, and a source of wisdom for innovative solutions to major challenges facing human society, according to Lionel M Ni, provost of HKUST (Guangzhou).

Four years of cooperation during the event has boosted CNBC's coverage of the innovation happening in Nansha such as smart internet autos, biological medicine and artificial intelligence, which have become hot news topics for the news source.  

"We can root our business in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and expand to the world," said the vice president of CHALI. She believes that Nansha has a good geographical location and the government strongly supports the industry.
