The 2021 Maritime Silk Road Forum and International Forum on Energy Conservation and Environment Protection was held in Guangzhou's Nansha district on Nov 30.
It aimed to probe into the global energy conservation opportunities for China in reaching carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and to promote exchanges and cooperation between China and world-leading countries and regions in the sector.
The forum invited renowned guests such as American economist Jeffrey Sachs, and Wang Wen, the Executive Director of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China.
Two talks were also held, which cast eyes on the challenges and changes for traditional energy-intensive industries as well as the scientific innovation and new opportunities brought by China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
