Final touches underway at new hospital in Nansha

The First Hospital (Nansha) affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University has now entered its final stage of construction and its facade and landscape architecture have been finished, local media outlets reported on Nov 11.

Nearly 80 percent of the hospital's interior design has been finished and the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment has entered the final stages. Large-scale medical equipment is also being prepared for on-site installation.

The hospital is located on Hengli Island in Nansha's Pearl Bay, covers a total construction area of 510,000 square meters, and will provide 1,500 patient beds.

The project received a total investment of 4.82 billion yuan ($754.49 million) for construction. The planning and design teams have applied concepts of green ecology, low carbon energy saving, and smart city and Lingnan styling.
