Haixun 09, China's first 10,000-metric-ton ocean patrol vessel, was commissioned and officially put into service in Guangzhou's Nansha district on Oct 23.
The ship, now berthed at Nansha International Cruise Ship Home Port, has a total length of 165 meters and a width of 20.6 meters. It has a displacement of 13,000 tons when fully loaded and can safely navigate in Code 9 sea conditions.
It has a maximum speed of 25 knots, is capable of being out to sea for 90 days, and is equipped with an intelligent engine room system and a dynamic positioning system to assist with the ship's navigation.
Haixun 09 is a world-class vessel with integrated air-sea law enforcement and global cruise rescue, and is equipped with an advanced maritime data center, which is capable of dynamic sensing and other advanced features such as baying ships in distress.
The cruising range of the vessel includes the coasts of Guangdong, Hainan and Guangxi as well as China's territorial waters in the South China Sea.
In the future, the vessel will be transformed into a base for China's participation in global maritime exchanges and cooperation, and is expected to open to the public in Nansha.
